Planning your wedding is very exciting, however, it can also be stressful. It often starts with where to have to ceremony and reception. You may be able to have both at the same place to save people from having to drive from one place to the next. You also need to make decisions about the flowers, the reception meal, the gowns, the wedding party, the decorations, the colors of your theme, and of course, the music. Most people decide on a single musician to play at the wedding, choosing either a guitarist, pianist, or even a harp or flute player. The reception is usually much different. The two common options are a DJ or a live band. While both options have their pros and cons, here are a few reasons to go with a reception DJ.

Venue

A live band can be exciting to watch; even people who don't dance will enjoy watching the band play. However, a band takes up a lot of space. If the venue is not large enough, hiring a band may not be possible. However, a DJ does not require as much space. They only need a table for their equipment and some speakers place around the venue.

Requests

Bands who are used to playing at weddings will have a good repertoire of the common wedding songs. They will also have a large number of the latest hits ready to play. However, even if you talk to the band in advance, they may not be able to play the songs some of your guests request. A DJ has a much wider range of music to play than a live band does. They also understand that your guests are going to be of different generations and have a wide variety of music to suit everyone. They make sure to have music available to keep everyone happy, upbeat, and dancing.

Breaks

A live band needs to take breaks more often than a DJ does. In addition, a DJ can set up a few songs to play while they are on break. You won't have to worry about no music being played, so the party can always keep hopping when you have a DJ.

Of course, you need to take your preferences into consideration. If you have a live band set in your heart, go with it. Just make sure you have thought it all through so you can plan the reception accordingly.
